Frequently Asked Questions
Certificates, USI, online learning, what to bring and how booking works — everything people ask us before they book mobile first aid training in Perth.
Booking & payment
How do I book?
Press any Book / request button, choose your course and either a scheduled session or “We come to you”, and send your request. Dates and times are subject to availability and confirmed by our administration team. Once we confirm, you receive an invoice; when your payment is received, you and each student are emailed the link to start the online learning.
Is my booking confirmed straight away?
No. Because we travel to you, every date and time is checked first. Your request is subject to availability and confirmation by our administration team — we email you when it is approved, or to suggest another time. Nothing is charged when you send a request.
How do I pay?
After we confirm your booking we send an invoice with the payment details (bank transfer or a payment link). If you pay by bank transfer, send us your proof of payment. As soon as payment is received, the online learning link is emailed to you and your students.
Can I get a refund or reschedule my booking?
Yes, provided you meet our refund policy. We offer free rescheduling at no extra cost to make unexpected incidents less painful. Same-day cancellations are not refundable.
Do you offer group or on-site training?
Yes — we are completely mobile, so we can accommodate a wide range of situations: workplaces, schools, childcare centres, sporting clubs and homes. Group pricing starts at 6 students; fewer than that is private 1-on-1 training.
Do you offer weekend or after-hours sessions?
Yes, by appointment. A $220 surcharge applies per booking (not per student) for weekends or outside our standard training hours, Mon–Fri 6 am–8 pm. It is shown in your quote before anything is confirmed.
Certificates & USI
How long is my CPR & first aid certificate valid?
CPR — 12 months.
Provide First Aid — 3 years.
Do I get my certificate the same day?
Typically yes, the same day. Please allow up to 24 hours, then contact us if there are any issues.
When can my certificate be issued?
Certificates cannot be issued until the online learning and the class practical are both complete.
Is the training nationally recognised?
Yes. HLTAID009, HLTAID011 and HLTAID012 are nationally recognised, with certification issued through our partnered Registered Training Organisation once you successfully complete the course.
Do I need a USI to enrol?
Yes. A Unique Student Identifier (USI) is required for all nationally recognised training in Australia. It is free and takes under 5 minutes at usi.gov.au.
How do I create a USI?
Visit usi.gov.au and create your free USI in under 5 minutes. You will need an Australian ID document (driver’s licence, passport, Medicare card or birth certificate). Your USI stays with you for life.
Online learning
Is there online pre-course learning?
Most courses include 2–4 hours of online pre-learning, which reduces face-to-face time. It is followed by a hands-on practical assessment with your trainer.
How do I get access to the online learning?
When your payment is received, you and every student are emailed a link to join your course on our online learning platform (irfa.au). Open the link, log in (or create your login if you are new) and start the theory at your own pace — before training day.
What if I have not finished the online learning by training day?
Please complete it beforehand: certificates cannot be issued until the online learning and the class practical are both complete. If you are running short of time, contact us as early as you can.
Training day
What should I bring to my first aid course?
- Enclosed shoes
- Water bottle
- Appropriate, comfortable clothing suitable for floor-based practical activities (CPR involves kneeling)
- Your USI, if not provided already
- A valid form of ID — such as a current passport, WA driver’s licence, WA photo card or Australian state or territory proof of age card
- Your completed e-learning notification
All training equipment for the practical assessment is provided by us.
Which course do I need?
HLTAID009 Provide CPR covers CPR and safe AED use. HLTAID011 Provide First Aid covers common injuries and medical emergencies, including CPR. HLTAID012 is first aid for educators and carers working with children in an education and care setting. Not sure? Ask us and we will point you to the right one.
How long does a session take?
Allow 1–2 hours for CPR (HLTAID009), 1.5–2.5 hours for Provide First Aid (HLTAID011) and 1.5–3 hours for the education and care course (HLTAID012). Time varies with student numbers and current qualifications.
What space do you need at my location?
A room or area with enough clear floor space for everyone to practise on the floor. We bring the training equipment and set up on arrival.
Is the practical physically demanding?
CPR practice is floor-based and involves kneeling and compressions. Tell us about any injury or mobility need when you book so we can plan around it.
