How to get your USI in under 5 minutes

September 22, 2026 · Training advice · Perth Mobile First Aid

A Unique Student Identifier (USI) is required for all nationally recognised training in Australia — including every first aid and CPR course we run. It is free, it takes under five minutes, and it stays with you for life.

What you need

An Australian ID document: a driver’s licence, passport, Medicare card or birth certificate.

How to create it

  1. Go to usi.gov.au and choose to create your USI.
  2. Enter your details exactly as they appear on your ID.
  3. Verify your identity with your ID document.
  4. Save your USI somewhere safe — you will use it again for any future training.

Bring it on the day

If you have not already given us your USI, have it with you at training. We also ask you to bring a valid form of ID, enclosed shoes, a water bottle and clothing you can kneel in comfortably.
